Alpha Epsilon Phi requires that all chapter programming or activities promote positive personal development. It is our hope then that sisterhood and friendship become synonymous. In order to receive the most benefits from the Alpha Epsilon Phi experience, as a new member, active or alumna, you must commit to actively participating. Only in this way will the meaning of fellowship become evident to members, and the true spirit of AEF be carried on.
During the first avenue program, new members will learn what is expected of a member of our sorority. Activities are based on 3 basic tenets: |
1) To teach the responsibilities of membership; 2) To help meet the demands of academic life; 3) To help new members reach their highest potential. |
Multa Corda Una Causa, Many Hearts, One Purpose is our open motto. With these high ideals in mind, National Council believes that all activities must emphasize human dignity and sisterhood. Recently, AEPhi began a 6 week new member program designed to acquaint new members prior to their initiation. New members make a commitment to fulfill the promises and obligations of membership. |
In our First Avenue Program a new member is expected to: |
Strive toward academic excellence. Gain knowledge about Alpha Epsilon Phi's history and heritage. Uphold the standards of Alpha Epsilon Phi; understand, accept and practice our national policies and procedures. Meet financial obligations promptly. Develop leadership skills. Support Panhellenic and the interfraternity structure. Fulfill the responsibilities of the new member program. |
AEPhi chapters use a Pearl System when preparing new sisters for membership. Every new member must receive 27 pearls, representing the 27 pearls of our badge and the new member's commitment. The pearls are divided into three areas: |
Cultural pearls - 8 Activity pearls - 9 Sorority pearls - 10 |
